Poster Corners SETAC Congress 2008

Poster corners at the SETAC Congress 2008 will bring together a common theme for a short presentation and discussion. Six to eight posters will be selected for each poster corner session to feature aspects within the following topics; Endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs), Persistent organic pollutants (POPs); Nanotechnology; Toxicity tolerance; Bioaccumulation; and, Omics.

The authors of each poster will have approximately 3-5 minutes to present the key findings of their research. Discussion and questions will be either after each presenter or in a group format, at the end of all of the presentations. The format of each session will be determined by the nominated chairperson(s). Please see chairpersons name and contact details below.

All posters in the session will be displayed in the vicinity of the poster corner space. Each poster corner will have microphones and amplification to facilitate questions and answers or group discussion.

The poster corners will run from 5:15 to 6:00pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, in the exhibition area. It will be the responsibility of the chairperson(s) to determine the format of the questions and discussion and to keep to time.

Presenters should remember to keep the discussion of their poster to key points. We suggest the following 3-point presentation technique:
1. Introduce the problem [30s-1 min];
2. Outline the approach and findings [1-2 min];

3. Finish with the key outcomes, solutions and implications of the research [1 min]. Posters intended to feature in poster corners should have less descriptive material and larger figures to improve viewing by a gathered group. Authors have the opportunity to provide extra detail during the presentation and discussion
